Peanut Butter Banana Shake

Guess who's in town!? THE SPURSSSSSS. And guess who's gonna see them tonight!?! πŸ™‹(meeee) Granted I'll be sitting way, way up in the stands, but who cares where you're sitting when the energy is buzzing all around the entire room, right? Idk if we've had this convo yet (we've likely had it multiple times), but yes, I'm a huge San Antonio Spurs fan (that's a basketball team in case you're like "who?" "huh?"). I'm so glad I'm from Hawaii because when you're from a state that doesn't have a pro team, you get to pick whichever team you want. And I picked the Spurs a while back. I'm not gonna tell you when cause I'll totally date myself. Anyway, here I am freaking out over my good luck because Timmy's back in action, and my guys travelled all the way to LA to see me, I mean to play the Clippers tonight. As this might be one of the last years all my favorite guys will be playing (they're getting old), I'm mega pumped for tonight's game!!!

Ok, enough about my plans (go Spurs, go), let's take a quick minute to talk about some of my other loves, peanut butter and banana. They're pretty much the most glorious duo out there, with exception to maybe, idk, peanut butter and chocolate or banana and chocolate. Point being, they go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong. Or something like that. Basically when you blend them up with a couple other goods, you get the most glorious and indulgent shake on the planet. I mean, I might be the type of person that eats her Justin's peanut butter straight outta the jar (and yeah, I'm obsessed with the stuff), so this might not mean much, but I feel like this shake is my favorite afternoon treat. It's a riff off of the Lassen's shake I dream about, but a million times better because it doesn't require standing in line. Maybe make this tonight to drink while watching the Spurs beat the Clippers? :D :D :D Happy Thursday, xoxo.

PEANUT BUTTER BANANA SHAKE

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 bananas, previously peeled, sliced and frozen

  • 1/2 c. ice (optional)

  • 1/2 c. rolled oats

  • 2 scoops vanilla bean coconut milk ice cream (I used this one)

  • 1/2 c. unsalted, creamy peanut butter (I used this one)

  • 1 - 1 1/2 c. almond milk

TOOLS

  • High-performance blender

  • Cups

FIX

  1. Add all ingredients, except almond milk, to blender jar and blend for 30 seconds, starting from low and quickly turning up to high. Add almond milk in 1/2 cup increments until desired consistency is achieved. (Add more for a thinner shake and less for a thicker shake. You can also add an additional 1/2 cup oats if you want it to be heartier.)

  2. Divide into two glasses and serve and enjoy immediately!
